Another successful experiment with long term aging of a daily-drinker wine - this bottling was heralded as a best bargain back when I bought it 10 years ago but I never got around to drinking it and at some point I decided to hold onto it - still drinking great, with a lot of flavor, smooth tannins, nice nose, varietal correctness, and some complexity derived through age. Very happy with it! Violets & cassis, with notes of tobacco and espresso.

Definitely declining. Drinkable but not desirable. Raspberry and rubbing alcohol on the nose. Slight tannins, smooth, with cherry and tobacco on the palate. Well past its prime, but still drinkable; don't serve to company.

Nothing really stood out in either direction. Went well with the NY strip. Reminded me of a quallity 'house' wine that some restaurants might offer. If I had to discribe it using only one word, it would be - "solid".

Far past its prime — one dimensional and thin. Likely fairly ordinary even in its heyday. We are using our remaining bottles of this wine for cooking.
