Best tonight after about an hour. Bold and full fruit. Drinking young and energetic. Might benefit from further aging. Enjoying 3+ hours later and it's settling in. No reason to rush yet but easy to enjoy now. Not necessarily showing Syrah specific characteristics.

Big nose of black fruits and flowers. Mouthful of spice cake with a touch of sweetness on the finish. Big wine but not heavy or cloying. Great Syrah in a great place. This can go another decade but is outstanding right now.

First time with Colgin's Syrah. Even with a two hour decant, it's still wound up. Unfortunately, I only had one bottle. In hindsight, I would have waited another few years before opening this. It seemed not integrated, however the elegance and finesse are there, but the tannins and heat are distracting elements. Loved the dark fruit and sandalwood, even pencil shavings that I find in their Estate cab. 94-95 today, 97-98 in 2025.
Sometimes a wine lives up to the hype. Black fruits. A hint of chocolate. Little meaty and floral hints that one would expect...just the total package. Perhaps it was the succulent mouthfeel that really put this into the upper reaches. Nothing like an SQN. Just great.

Plum, chocolate, and cedar. Elegant with a stunning textural richness. Densely flavored. Not much varietal typicity here. Drink starting 2024.
