Logging out of inventory from a few weeks ago, the prior note from domthesomm and the Vinous note both ring true to me. Perhaps a little better in a couple of years but a nice Syrah already, like a classy St. Joseph. Acceptable at $50.

It’s far too young but, wow! Impressive wine. Loads of cracked pepper, blueberries, dried herbs, strawberry, florals, and a touch of meat. Low alcohol with tons of finesse. Lovely stuff!

Value-for-money note: I liked this wine, I've marked it 92 (I'd be prepared today to mark it 93 if I include it's potential), but in terms of VFM I have to say I do not feel it is worth anything near it's Rec RP £98.00....maybe worth £60.00 Anyway, now the Elephant in The Room is outta' the way, on with the positives - of which there are many, I am happy to say:
N....medium intensity, some oak and quality fruit
T....heavy body, inky, maybe too much oak/it not yet married; there is a lot going on here, nice earthy characters, wet stone, lovely fruit handling, an essence/power which feels almost Cote Rotie-like (Homage...Syrah, we get it), this is way too young at the minute; obvious cellar potential. It ends dry, significant tannins. It is very good wine but I remember previous vintages been better - outstanding, beyond 92/100 - than this 2017.
Rec RP £98.00.....as note above says, very good wine but I am still saying for me it ain't worth anything close to £98.00

Full, robust, smooth, satin, succulent. Lots to love with Homage.

Dried herbs on the nose. Medium tannins and acidity. Fell flat on the finish. Maybe in a shutdown faze?
