  • This has come together since my last bottle a year and a half ago. Beautiful, wafting aromas of plum, cassis and lavender. On the palate this has smoothed out into a big mouthful of milk chocolate, red and dark fruits, with the tannins tamed down considerably but still lively acidity on the finish. A few more of these to hold onto to see where they continue to go but with the tannins mellowing out so much over the last 1-1/2 years hard to believe this will get much better.

  • My first B cellars, compliments of Mark1, enjoyed with HMC at a great tasting. WOTN Bright fruit, good acidity, balanced. Wonderful

  • 2 hour decant and enjoyed over 2-3 more with HMC and Mich Dogs! Initially a tad over the top with cassis, it mellowed slightly through the evening. Tons of milk chocolate up front early on. Great B Cellars energy/ acidity throughout. More bright red fruited as HMC noted. My last bottle of this wonderful '16 with many years ahead of it. Bordered on 97 for me personally, by the end of the night. As always, I wish I had more!

  • This wine is coming into it’s finest! A bit of fruit remains, with a fine tannin finish. Definitely a “mouthful” cab. Thank you B Cellars and Kirk Venge for another fine vintage. A tribute to a great production from George III Beckstoffer vineyards! I wish I could afford more in my cellar.

  • Decanted for about an hour this was rocking from the start. Big, rich, and dynamic. Firm mouth coating tannins but under control and as Mark mentions the acidity is the big driver here resulting in an explosive finish. Plum and black olive fruits are there but not prominent, a little more fruit could have pushed this a point or two higher, IMO, but nothing to complain about with the rest of the fireworks going on with this one. Perfect accompaniment to seared Piedmontese NY Strip.
