  • I had no expectations for this MI chard. It is good. Feels true to the grape and more like a California chard. Crisp which tells me consume sooner than later but a few years bottle age helps. Tart, and initially sharp grapefruit acidity but with about an hour air, has leveled off. One of the better chards from Michigan I have tasted because it's true to the chardonnay grape.
I finished the fridge stored wine about three weeks after opening, and my impression is this is a decent Michigan chardonnay. Surprised it held up for so long. Producer chose to ferment in stainless rather than wood and this made it a better wine. A good entry level wine that feels more like mid level. Would buy again. Should drink within five years of vintage. Solid 89 points.
