Angelica Wine Club - Italian (Noi Restaurant, Petersham): Slightly funky, black hued fruits show a little plum, berry, touch of jamminess. Juicy, fleshy rather than fresh, a little textured burr, less jammy on the palate. Best this has tasted for me. Time and air are its friends

IWS Calabria and Puglia (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Red berries, bramble, a little baked herbs, sweet spice. Juicy with medium plus intensity acidity, red over black berries, slightly chalky tannins and something a little hard and green here as well that lends a toughness to the palate. Big. Hmm.

From Coravin. Plums, a little prune, liquorice, slightly meaty notes, with time a little cream as well. in the mouth it's juicy with medium plus intensity acidity, plummy and pruny fruit, some tannic grip tugs at teh tongue but is more of a supporting component, as is the alcohol warmth which helps carry the finish. that cream note joins as well. Fruit forward. Simple.
