Moving into secondary development. This Rugiens took 15 minutes to open and in 30 minutes was sensational. This is a mature rugiens. At 28 years, the primary fruit is gone, but the secondary characteristics are in spades!!! Best rugiens I have ever enjoyed because the transparency (even in the 1990 vintage) is sensational. Wine is at its peak and will hold here until it’s 30 years old. Michel Gaunoux is a master of this wine!

1990 Burgundies (NYC): Light red color, slight lightening on the rim. Dusty cherry on the nose, but overall, not giving much up in aroma. Light sour cherry tastes. A bit thin/watery. Good, but not exciting.

a very lactic, cheesy nose that is a bit overripe, dessicated - slightly thin but a nice wine, not a great wine.
