  • By the glass. Assyrtiko (100%). Aegean Zone. Biodynamic cultivation of supposed centenary vines in the town of Pyrgos. Being of the same vintage a bottle marked 14.0% alcoholic volume and another 15.0% (!). Obviously there's a mistake. In any case very high. On the nose, iodized notes stand out over more citrus ones. Slight touch of spiced mineral. The palate is shown to be the densest of its pairs, glyceric and concentrated but also painfully acidic, as expected. Medium finish and very fresh, alcoholic aftertaste.

Por copas. Assyrtiko (100%).

  • The third time we cross paths with this and another consistently beautiful performance albeit this is still on the young side especially compared with the 2019 Nyxteri we had side by side ( Papies 93-94) which was readier and more evident.
Like we said last time this is but at the start of its journey and for sure will improve further. 93 for now

  • Near the village of Pyrgos, highest elevation area on the island. 25% goes 12m in neutral barriques w heavy battonage. 75% goes 3m in tank w battonage. Less herbal, more glossy aromas. Outstanding. Intense palate. Buy

  • Tasted at the estate as part of their tour.
Light in colour, glossy bright . Young of course but ever so welcoming. Would suggest one decants this for sure much like it’s sibling the Monsigniori at this young age. This has been opened for some time so has a bit more evolution on the pate and the 25% of French oak here does imprint a softer rounder and soft vanilla touch to it. In no way overpowering but present. The wine is young for sure and has a soft bitter kiss as any assyrtiko worth its salt ( pun intended) . Soft flinty and saline too. 93 and lots of life ahead.

  • Impressive even this young and this is just starting to get into its full stride. Still though the youthful, bright feel of it is still a side to cherish and we loved it as much as ( we are sure) we will love the future more evolved side of it. Flinty, signature feel of flint, mineral, saline, polished acidity from a mix of Lee’s ageing and some use of barrel, citrus, and stone fruits. Impressive and one to look for as its sibling the cuvée Monsignori. 93 for now but with a lot more to give and improve.
