  • I do believe this was once a very good bubbly but alas I kept it way too long in my cellar. Based on what the three others who commented said the color has not changed much but unfortunately a note of oxidation is keeping the traditional toast and brioche notes from emerging that others observed. My cellar is passive and ranges to 51F in winter, 56F in spring, 60F in summer and 58F in autumn and have had no issues at all with still wines so I am chalking this one up to Father Time. As an additional note there was a decent but not strong pop when the cork was removed. Comments?

  • Purchased from the same source so I assume it's the same disgorgement, 2002. Deep golden in color. Intense nose of rich brioche toast. The attack is fresh but layers of creamy white fruits follow the crispy nose and notes of hazelnut follow on the finish. Very nice now, but still plenty of life left.

  • Nice warm golden color. Yeasty nose. Not much sparkle in the taste. Mellow. Toast, nuts, earthy. Bit of a flat finish. Not so many bubbles, especially the second day. I think it was past its prime. Not bad. Definately not acidic or fruity.

  • @ La Sirene Deep golden in color. Aromatics of toasted brioche and hazelnuts. A bit of fruit on the palate and a long finish of toast, nuts, and earth. A beautiful, mature Champagne.
