  • Almost three years since my previous bottle, and this is was my last one. Again, upon opening this reminded me much more of a white Rhone than a Chardonnay. So gave it some time in the open bottle, and while the nose remains white Rhone, the palate is more Chardonnay with more acidity and nuttiness. Nevertheless compared to the 07 Bouchard Corton Charlemagne preceding the wine, this lacks the freshness, minerality and aromatics of the Burgundy. The oak is still fairly dominant after 13 years, which tells me there was too much to start with. Drink up.

  • W COVID takeout from Petit Bistro. Swordfish and Lemon sole. Real fresh local asparagus!! Very good wine, extremely well balanced - fruit still good but drink up. Great chard example with right oak. Yummy.

  • Previous bottle was over the hill, but this one still shines. A bright light golden color. Good structure, still big tears after swirling. You want to drink this wine cooler rather than warmer. Where the 2007 ma belle fille becomes more nuanced when a bit warmer, this wine’s acidity and spicyness becomes more apparent (and I can understand the reference to a white Rhone wine). Cooling this baby emphasizes the light citrus, oak and sweetness (although it is quite dry). Not so nuanced, but still a prety good big Californian Chard that only lacks some complexity.

  • Four years since my last bottle. Pnp. Pale golden yellow. First glass reminds me more of white Rhone blend than Chardonnay with this aromatic, sweet and sour note of candied lemon peel, the candied fruit disappears a bit with more air but this is now a very rich wine with a fair bit of sweet oak still showing. Good length no doubt
Nice complexity and very fragrant but has lost the freshness from 4 years ago (far away from the Chablis I mentioned back then). Time to drink up remaining bottles in my eyes. 91

PS: wine benefitted from more air and from cooling down to perhaps 9C, improved balance with more freshness nicely matching the more subtle sweetness. Excellent 93

  • New Years day with salmon. This was superb! Great color great balanced nose an very interesting fruit medly. Ver chard like but much better than the white burgs in same price range. White burgs are getting much too citrussy. This was just great for any white wine lover. Yummy.
