This bottle was nothing like the bottle we drank a year ago. This one was not at all evolved, even after 7 years of age. It tasted overly oaked, too much of a big California pinot noir that was too fruity, yet overly tannic; never opened up even though we drank it over 2 days. What a disappointment after the first bottle we had. This one certainly didn't taste over-the-hill or somehow flawed, so I don't know what to attribute the "backward" movement of the wine maturity between the bottles - just bottle variation, I guess!

A very good food wine - with roast duck and grilled squash. Very much a blackberry type of PN. Not a lot of nose or mouth feel upon opening but within 30 minutes it was showing very nicely and it continued to evolve throughout our meal and with some chocolate after dinner. This still had a tannic element to it that would seem to indicate that it could improve in the cellar for a couple of more years, although the tannins softened as the evening progressed. All told, a very, very nice wine, even if it's not quite on a par with the best Oregon PN's - or good Burgundies.

"Lovely" was used often while consuming this bottle. Balanced. Soft tannins leaned more to the dark purple fruit side. Plum blackberries. Went "lovely" with our steak and scallop stuffing. Triple yum!

Was very surprised at how well this had held up. Fully resolved with dark Pinot fruit and flavors. Everyone loved it.

Verging on a triple yum. Give it a good double yum and a half. Great rep of a cali carneros Pinot
