I've had a half dozen Champagnes from this house and this bottle fell a little short. Mainly Chardonnay from the 2019 vintage with red wine from the Les Fontaines plot in Saint Thierry added. 4-5g/l dosage. Disgorged June 2022. Light pink color. Moderate bead. The only problem with this bottle was that there was some funky rubber aromas on the nose. The palate was fine. Notes of cherries and strawberries with a creamy texture. 88 points.

Visual: Deep pink, not really any golden hue. Nose: ripe red fruit. Was super expressive at open which was surprising, but lost some after time in the glass. Almost like a candy-like note Mouthfeel: medium size, but nice Pallet: relatively lively with acidity from start to finish. Taste raspberries, herbercious notes, spices, and a little grapefruit at the end? Structure: very round in the mid-pallet with acidity and a long finish
View: I love his rose and have drank many over the years. This one feels more ripe / spiced than previous years whereas I get more of a strawberry bomb. Very nice and good value.

(NV Chartogne-Taillet Champagne Le Rosé) Light salmon color with very tiny bubbles; tart golden raspberry, tart peach nose; tasty, poised, tart golden raspberry, mineral, light yeast palate; medium-plus finish (60% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir, from 2007 vintage)

(NV Chartogne-Taillet Brut Rosé) ($58.00) This is a step forward, the best rosé I’ve tasted from here, quite pure and gauzy, with balsam and rhubarb; clear yet also solid with the red-fruit anchoring one expects from rosé; it has the delicacy of Côte des Blancs rosé with more voluminous fruit. All 2007, 60%CH/40%PN by assemblage.

Similar to previous notes. Doesn't resonate fully with me. 88 to maybe 89 points.

Deft and elegant. Easy drinking. Better for aperitifs and then some lighter fare.
