Definitely not the Merlot you're used to. If you can get over the fact that it plays more like Burgundy or Loire, it's actually quite nice and very food friendly, and will drink well for another 5 years. Gutsy cool climate Merlot. A bit tough. Ok at $25 but couldn't we have just a touch more fruity lovin'?

Pleasant round cherry with nice balance and slight herb, spice notes in the finish. simple but likable.
