not sure what I expected from this Cab with the showy label but it started off pretty good with aromas of plum, prune, blackberry, and black cherry; the palate has a real smoothness to it loaded with blackberry, vanilla, and a gentle grittiness. Right off the hop it was a tasty wine; but as the evening wore on it became less and less attractive; air is definitely not this wine's friend so drink up quick.

Finally it was time to introduce our guests to a bottle of Californian Cab, Rebel Wine 2006 The Show Cabernet Sauvignon. The bottle is a lot of fun with its old time circus style logo - this was the one with the cowboy on the front - and the wine inside was a showstopper: mocha, dried blackberry, cassis and plum; it showed itself to have a little elegance after the jamminess of the Shiraz.

Is it wrong to rate this again if I left it sitting on the floor of the car for a week? I still like this; not as fruit laden, but with some fair secondary flavors developing.

Great QPR for what you get, which perhaps is a tad "manufactured" as some others have said - but still tasty and would think everyone would enjoy sipping this. Nose is dark with blackberries and some cocao? Palate is rich with dark chocolate (lightly covered) dark berries. Finish is long'ish - with sweet dark fruit and light smokey notes.

Decent for the price. Easy drinking. Simple, pleasant nose and favour. Nothing special.
