  • Rich ruby color, the rim just starting to lighten. Intense cherry, leather and wood on the nose. Surprisingly sweet on entry, almost new world pinot, with the density and tannins of the original. In fact, so dense (for a villages) that it's almost monolithic. Some complexity started to emerge after an hour or so, but by that time it was nearly finished. Lovely wine. If I had another bottle, I would try to hold it for a year or two.

  • Bottle 460 of 583. Dark, almost purple-colored (reminiscent of Clos de Tart). Thick colored stripes. Intense nose of dark ripe cherries. Medium-bodied with great elegance and very pleasurable. Lacks some secondary attributes and more structure to be truly outstanding. Rating: 91
