Pop and Pour. Dark as ink, smells of eucalyptus and raspberry, light body, in the mouth raspberry, eucalyptus and pepper, not that sweet (as is Dow's style in general), in the aftertaste pepper, eucalyptus and a little bit of raspberry, good length (30 sec), middling, would not buy again.

Dow markets this Port wine as being the perfect match with chocolate. Well…. It might be with extremely black chocolate. As a Port wine it hardly shows any friendliness. A lot of bitterness yes. A little too much imo. I will not score it since I did not try it with chocolate, but I will never buy it to drink just as a Port wine. It has no vintage mentioned, but it is a very dark ruby style.

Baked red berries on the slightly lifted nose with orange rind, cloves and some chocolate. Sweet, supple and smooth. No tannic bitterness and lighter style. Still intense aromatically. I can see why this should work with bitter dark chocolate.

Always have a bottle of this one standby, fantastic with the darkest of chocolate!

Zeer passend bij chocola. Het beste bij een bittere pure.
