Slight flint/match strike on nose with big hazelnut pop. For a 10-year-old Sonoma Coast wine, this punch is way above its weight. Hazelnuts and lemon curd carry through on the finish, drink now

The Aubert version of a village wine. This is the second of these we’ve opened recently and it is a wonderful wine, head and shoulders above most California Chardonnay, and without any meaningful drop in quality from their amazing single vineyard wines. White flowers, citrus oil, orange blossom, spiced vanilla and pear honey, with a surprisingly crystalline structure. I think I notice the acidity in the mouth more than in previous bottles. Just a big wow, this is delicious and gets better in the glass.

Better than I thought it would be and a bit less oak than anticipated. Nicer balance between oak and fruit than I expected. A touch of minerality. This one as a bit of time left on it.

Great bottle of wine that rivals the single vineyard cuvees of Aubert.
