  Nose has sweet blackberry compote and clove spice. Palate has rich jammy fruit with a load of spice. Lively acidity provides energy and zest across the mid-palate. Pure and well-knit. Long finish has modest intensity of fruit with some alcohol showing on the back end. A very nice mature zinfandel that is holding well, but no need to cellar further --- enjoy now.

  all aboard the jammy express! initial heat on the finish has rounded off over the past hour. this is surprisingly well balanced for such a high alcohol wine, but you better like your zins big. fortunately, i do. i think you could spread this on your toast in the morning. gentle smokiness and nicely integrated tannins are in tune with the black fruits. recommended.
