When we toured the Clare Valley back in early 2013, we were new to Clare Valley Shirazes and not sure they were our style. When we tasted this wine we really enjoyed it but after we realised it was a blend with MacLaren Vale we felt that perhaps MacLaren Vale was more for us. We bought quite a few of this wine and early on, we felt the wine was overdone and not nice at all. However now it is really excellent. It has a great nose, very smooth but clearly a big wine and perhaps not to everyone’s taste. It’s a shame that this was our last.

Rich fruit from Clare Valley complemented with Coonawarra fruit giving a herbaceous zing. Cherry, cassis, tobacco and spice. Fine balanced tannins finishing of. Wine at peak but no hurry if cellared correctly.

Aged beautifully. Big round smooth shiraz. Grass and cherries on the nose. Initial bitw quickly gives way to big, sweet almoat vanilla plum and cherry balanced by smooth oak. Long finish with enough citrus acid to balance itm

Deep dark colour with a purple hue. Aroma of tobacco, dry cedar, straw and truffle. Sweet plum, strawberry and cherry. Tannin is light and fine but still provides medium plus body. Balanced acidity. Surprisingly fresh black and red fruit, sweet but not overly so. Silky tannin has created an enjoyable wine that looks like it hasn't aged at all. Obviously years ahead of it but I don't know if you can beat its current state.

Black red colour when poured. Starts off quite harsh, Requires breathing time. Aroma of leather, earth and tar. Plum, mulberry, cloves, dried herbs. Slightly hot, medium plus body with medium finish. Tannin becomes quite fine over time. Smooth on the first night, slightly less on the second night. Very dry finish.
