Not sure what has happened to this wine. Opened it and thought 2009 is not that old for a Primitivo but the wine was not drinkable . No flavour, colour brownish . Tasted like marmalade or syrup but a very bad one. Can not even be used for cooking.

Got this bottle as a "special" offer, last batch of the "famous" 2009 vintage. Something to really "look forward to". OK, drinking a 2009 vintage in 2021 shouldn't really be a disappointment, considering there are plenty of wines which can age significantly longer than these ~10+ years.
But what a disappointment!!
Color is brownish, not just on the edge, but the entire liquid. Smell of sherry and a lot of port. Smelling blind I would have said this is port. And since this is a super sweet wine anyway, it actually did taste like port. But unfortunately not a good one...
At best drinkable for educational purposes, in order to demonstrate what happens to a wine that was "created" to taste good in young age, but has zero potential in the long run.
Most disappointing was the development over the next few hours. The wine completely disintegrated / fell apart into milky liquid and solid parts. Have had this before with super old wines or old wines which were accidentally decanted. But this one was poured from the bottle and still fell apart within few hours. What a disaster.
Their marketing department positions this product as one of the super Primitivo, but it can't even age 10 years?!! What a disappointment.
In conclusion: this wine is a dazzler.

Great wine! Lots of fruit and soft tannins. Full body. Lovely finish.
