A quite expansive treat at the “chateau” Hospitalet, but then… well, an aged over alcoholic wine. IT became quite “cognacy” (at some 15.5 abv), very much on menthol and herbs ( thyme in particular). Still fresh, but seemingly nowhere to go. And that is because it is getting flowery, sandy. Tension starts to be lost and the amount of sediment is just tremendous. As such, they stay vigorous, relatively flat footed on the herbal leg. The effort is laudable, but difficult to beat nature in this hot and windy spot of earth. Would hence recommend to consume these wines young (when still on spices, black currant, cherry and cranberries) and not age them too long. Even then, i would question the price point.

Green olives and maybe a hint of feta cheese on the nose, with blackcurrants peeking around the edges. Olive/medicinal touches sit around the edges of the palate, with a core of deep red fruit and controlled tannins.
