  • clear, ruby with hints of brick throughout, even after 12 years. Still red and black fruits dominance to the nose, with hints of violet and some ripe berries coming up. Muted herbs. Cedar and tobacco, some sweet liquorice, but not very persistent. Medium acidity - high tannins, but from fruit and no trace of vinification tannins. pleasant linear texture with medium/long finish.
Took some time (2-3 hours) to come out. Imagine it can still lie until 2028-2030.
Classic pairing with fried red meats, fatty sides.

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like strawberry, blackberry, black currant (cassis), strawberry jam, forest floor, cedar, light toast, violet and tobacco. It tastes like strawberry, blackberry, strawberry jam and tobacco. The body is medium/full. The wine has linear texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

  • Pleasant wine. Earthy notes, leather, subdued fruit flavors. Still medium plus tannins. Very bold, full bodied wine. Medium low acidity. My first time tasting an older wine.

  • The wine looks dark tawny colored. The legs are slow. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. The body is full. It has a velvety consistence and a bit of a leathery taste. For the money ((paid $50 for the bottle), it was quite a good quality.

  • By the glass during a Chateau Beychevelle visit.
Very open on the nose , floral, dark fruits soft spice. Lightest touch of oak. The nose is really the highlight of this wine as in the palate the green edge of the 2012 merlot ( 47%) shows I t he form of a few dry edges. Good and fresh wine , bright but a bit let down by the palate feel. 88
