This was a little more open this time — blackberries, Graham cracker, hints of nutmeg and cinnamon sticks. Medium+ tannins and a little more blackberry pie filling. Well integrated palate with a really nice lift through the mid-palate that gives it both density and balance. A little bit limited on flavor intensity but nicely balanced.

A big punch in the face Zin as a PnP, which really wasn't too bad, but dropped off and became rather muted with some badalmic and green pepper notes. Not to my liking but glad we tried it.

Crimson in color. 14.2% ABV. Big nose of brambly black and red fruits, baking spices and white pepper. Full bodied and powerful with gobs of acidity. Well balanced, Claret style Zinfandel, that finishes with a healthy dose of tannins. Blackberries, cherries, anise and pepper on the palate. Delicious Zinfandel from a historic vineyard. Best over the next 5-7 years.

This wine took and exceptionally long time to open up. After two hours of decanting it started to come alive. Understated with notes of currents and savory spice. Balsamic qualities for mouth feel. I liked this a lot towards my final glass and would like to revisit.
