Alone, this wine is an 86 at best, but I gave it a 90 after I blended it 50/50 with a 1998 Bordeaux that was past peak. Together these 2 were really impressive. So, I recommend buying wines like this, still in their youth, and blending them with older Bordeaux wines that are in decline.

Better than expected, it performed well with lean flat iron steak. The tannins are settled, yet giving a backbone. The overall balance is good and rounded, despite the wine lacks finesse and is quite middle-of-the-road in style. 2015 is possibly at its peak now.
