Probably TCA taint. Med brown color. Pronounced aromas of caramel, soy sauce, Napa cabbage, raisin, wet cardboard. Sweet, full body, med(+) acidity, high alcohol, long finish. Overall aromatics feel a bit muted. If I was rating, I’d still give 85-90.

Toffee, caramel, tropical fruits and more nuances that have since faded from my mind. The acidity balances out the sweetness so perfectly. The opposite of heavy or cloying. Never hot or harsh despite the 19% abv. Just delightful and the perfect after-dinner drink.

Pale Amber in the glass with a very viscous sheen on the walls. The nose has pronounced aromas of walnuts, caramel, dark chocolate paste, raisins, prunes, almond skin and a touch of heat. The palate is sweet and luscious with medium acidity. Confirming the flavors on this full bodied wine that finishes long, the almond bitterness I got on the nose translates to the back end and it’s delicious. 93 points for this silky treat that runs $50 makes it a 4 star effort. Enjoy with dessert or cheese tray.

(NV Broadbent Madeira Malmsey 10 Years Old) Light medium brown color; aromatic, coffee, walnut, saline nose; tasty, coffee, walnut, saline palate with good balancing acidity; long finish
(NV Broadbent Madeira Malmsey 10 Years Old) Medium red orange color with 1 millimeter clear meniscus; appealing, date, tart apricot nose; appealing, silky textured, juicy, tart apricot, date palate with balance; long finish
(NV Broadbent Madeira Malmsey 10 Years Old) An outstanding value, this is my house Madeira. Maple color with a defined yellow edge. Aromatics belie the wine’s age, delivering intricate nuances of beef bouillon, sea air, roasted nuts, lemon, and caramelized sugar. Sweet, with bracing acidity and flavors of butterscotch, lemon zest, and pralines. A delicious, complex midpalate yields to a finely tuned, lingering aftertaste. Although reasonably priced Madeiras often lack the richness and unctuosity of more expensive bottlings, this wine delivers a smooth, viscous, refined mouthfeel. Fit to Be Fortified

Nutty, velvety, slightly citrus and lots of honey sweetness.
