deep ruby aroma of deep red hedgerow fruits Sumptious in the mouth, lively freshness, developing into waves of red fruits backed up with some med tannin and a med + finish

Dark fruit, but pure back fruit without any funk to it. More stern on the palate, but not overly so, flush fruit to pull it through, depth as well. Again, good wine.

This second bottle is in good condition. That's my luck right - not one out of a dozen but one out of two bottles that I bought. No Brett in this one.
The nose is very fruity but with a significant whiff of volatile acidity and alcohol and therein lies my ongoing problems with this wine. It is bright crunchy fruit in the raspberry, red cherry, pomegranate and currant spectrum and it has interest because of that mix of varieties including Carignan (old vines too).
But again on the palate the fruit is quickly overtaken by some 15% alc and the finish is hot with this alcohol and high acidity. More so because the wine lacks tannin. It would be much better at 14% alc even if the fruit was somewhat less ripe.
Its a pity because the fruit profile has interest but this wine is not for me.
