Very approachable on PnP. Better with two hours in the decanter and even better on day two. Lots of oak and quite user friendly, with soft tannins and red cherries on the nose and palate. Good acidity and balance as well as decent concentration. Seamless alcohol. Four square, but highly enjoyable. 13.5% ABV (good; average; simple/**/15/88)

ItalyvsFrance Merlot blends Zoom tasting. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of freshly picked boysenberries, blackberries, redcurrant, brambly red berries, Provencal lavendar field. Developing. On the palate, dry, very soft rounded medium+ acidity, medium alcohol, soft easy medium+ tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of blackberries, red berries, redcurrant, boysenberries, licorice, light sweet spice. Medium+ Maybe long finish. Very good quality. Quite charming. Fruity and ready. Might push for a 91 and can develop a bit more but not sure it will really make old bones.
