Decanted 2hrs. Quality CDP, no question. It did feel a tad hot and tannic - not overly so, but enough that I’m glad I didn’t bury a bunch of these. Best on the last glass when things to seem to come together. Hold.

Medium ruby color. White smoke, boysenberry, red cherry, authentic dark maraschino cherry, raspberry, blueberry, light beef jerky, soy sauce, cumin, white pepper, bramble, and emerging tertiary with dried mushroom. Lavender and creamy dark chocolate emerge after an hour. M aromatic intensity. M+ flavor intensity. M+/H fine-grained tannins that become pleasantly chewy. M+ body overall, with slightly less weight of the polished mid-palate texture. M/M+ finish. H alcohol (16%) is just a little "hot" and out of balance. Enjoyable now with fresh youthful flavors, but should develop more complexity with age, with the tannins becoming more integrated and soft. I'd estimate a nice balance of primary and tertiary flavors 2028-2033.

Smoke, ripe blueberries, ripe blackberries, ripe black cherries, meaty mushrooms and tobacco on the nose. Medium + intensity of aromas. The palate adds vanilla (surprising given that it was aged in Foudres), tomato paste, cranberries, bacon grease and cumin, though the intensity of flavors is only medium. Finish with blood and more animal fat. Pair it with sausages and garlic and a bitter hebal flavor emerges, much to the wine's benefit.
Medium + body with surprising medium + tannin and medium acid. Developing. Hold for 2-3 years. I believe that the tannins will calm down and the flavors will intensify by then.

At Vinexpo, excellent Cdp & the best of the 3 CdPs, great range of aromas, black fruits, garrigue, full bodied great poise, long life ahead, thanks Veronique
