not blind, disg. 18, at the winery I prefer most time his BdB compared to Maillon even Pierrieres is his "weakest" site. Flintstone, some biscuit but still really fresh. 94

Off the list at Ganbara. A racy and crisp Extra Brut that suits the Chardonnay fruit nicely. Solid richness and depth, particularly as this opens up with air. Not my favorite style of Champagne, but this delivers nicely in the low dosage style.

Medium yellow. Lively, fine bead. Oak toast, citrus, and herb scents. Medium weight, lemony, penetrating, full of soil, and actually a bit tart. I think this still needs time in bottle to soften and round out. In the short term, decant and avoid serving it too cold.

Pear, floral with lovely high tone bouquet, expansive and weighty on the palate with a savory finish. Acid a tad prominent despite the age. Opening up after time in the glass showing almonds. The kind of champagne to enjoy slowly over dinner as it opens up.

Mainly good white Burgs: 2018 disgorgement. Generous starter brought by a friend for champagne day. This had a wonderful balance between richness and acidity that was typical of the producer. Some almond notes, the ripeness and weight, together with the redder fruit made me think this was Pinot-heavy blend - not the the first time I have guessed wrongly from Collin and I suspect won't be the last. Drinking well now.
