The wine is drinking in perfect balance right now. Tannins have smoothed out. Fruit is multi layered. Blackberry. Boysenberry. Sure went good with ribs. The hit of the party and there was some expensive high caliber juice there. Wish I had more

My first impression when I sipped the wine from the third and last bottle in my cellar reinforced my thesis: this Syrah is rather tannic and its astringent character is perceived from the first sip. It is also quite aromatic, bringing out notes of mokka and dark chocolate in the glass. I would recommend to keep the wine cellared for another 2 - 3 years, to see if the tannins can be tamed.
