A fully mature Riesling. Nicely balanced, just as a hint of sweetness. Can't imagine that any more time in the bottle will matter much. Opened up a little through the bottle.
Also, lots of sediment in this one. No need to decant, just be careful about handling the bottle before and during serving.

(Schloss Schönborn Hattenheimer Pfaffenberg Riesling Spätlese) Focused, spicy, baked peach and mineral nose; poised, nice, tart apricot, mineral palate with depth; medium finish

Note: I use a rating scale for which 85 represents a very good wine.
Perhaps a little past its prime, but still thoroughly enjoyable. Pretty traditional spatlese palate.
