  At Aux XIII Arches, Portbail, Normandy.
  No vintage on wine list but took a punt and was a bit wary when saw it was both a 2008 and 100% Sauvignon. Nonetheless was impressed with the excellent balance of ripe gooseberry fruit, viscosity, gentle integrated toasted oak and capsicum grip. Still has a year or two ahead of it with this structure. Very moorish, the four of us comfortably wrote off two bottles in quick time with our predominantly seafood choices.
  Good value off wine list.

  Agréable sauvignon blanc, le bois est maintenant bien intégré. Belles notes d'agrumes, pas trop végétal, longueur moyenne. Pas de quoi écrire à sa mère, mais vaut son prix (de l'époque).

  Je n'ai pas aimé ce vin. Une odeur forte de soufre à l'ouverture va persister dans le verre longtemps. En bouche, Bois d'un côté et acidité élevée de l'autre combinés aux notes végétales genre pipi de chat donne un tout disparate et peu ragoûtant. BEAUCOUP trop cher pour ce qu'il offre. À mon avis, à éviter.

  100% sauvignon blanc with blackcurrant leaves as main feature of the nose, but not dominant. Also whiffs of melon and gooseberry.
  Fresh good taste, certain salinity and the acidity has been rounded. Wood still comes through and there's a slight bitterness at the end. Solid, good wine to drink now and the few next years.

  Nez : projection d'intensité faible à l'ouverture et qui a pris de l'ampleur après une vingtaine de minutes, citron confit, citron frais, pamplemousse blanc, vanille, boisé, minéral, bord de mer, herbe fraîche, sympa
  Bouche : sec, ample, acidité rafraîchissante, amertume moyenne à forte, sensation de salinité, légère prise minérale, persistance moyenne, rétro fruitée, vanilllée, herbacée, simple...
  Conclusion : tout de même bien, mais le bois nous a semblé trop présent, maquillant ce qui aurait pu être élégant et une expression du terroir par ailleurs...
