Bright, shiny silver straw. Very Burgundian style with subtle, sophisticated oak (which gives the wine a rounded, smokey richness). Still vibrant and powerful (and just as good when we polished off the bottle a week later). Steely, lime fruit on palate with striking acidity. Exceptional!

After such a good experience with recent last bottle I decided not to take any risk with further maturation and popped and poured to go alongside the turkey pie of the roast turkey the last bottle was drunk with. Good choice

Really nice wine which has matured beautifully and should perhaps start being drunk up. There is still that slightly luscious beeswax and lanolin feel and taste in the mouth but the fruit is still crunchy and alive. A great match at this age for roast turkey

Very solid SA Chardonnay and very typical HR wine. Comparatively full almost oily in the mouth and a full on toasty oak and richly fruited taste, yet still retaining balance and elegance.
