(MONTES ALPHA PURPLE ANGEL) #3; VaynerPAZZZ; COLOR-dark; NOSE-fruit bomb, cherry & strawberry jam, little licorice; TASTE-a ton of tannins, Extremely New World, a little too much fruit for me, but luscious, little minty & asparagus aspect, solid effort for a fruit bomb, good mid-palate & structure, ; GV-88 (GV GUESS: Could see this being from Chile; $40 wine.)

This has been called everything from a fruit bomb to lean and weak. I found it to be neither but rather a spice-driven wine. There is dark fruit but it takes a back seat to clove, bell pepper, black pepper and a mix of other spice notes. This seems to be a well-made wine but some of the spice veers towards off-putting.
