Red, White and a Rarity (Sammamish, Washington): Slightly funky nose. Medium dark-amber in color. Nice red fruit profile, with only a small fraction of the funky nose appearing on the palate. Some umami and mocha notes. Very slurpable with rich palate and nice tannins on the long finish.

2021 FTLOP Harvest Tour; 9/19/2021-10/2/2021 (Portgugal): This is one of my favorite Vintage Ports from Portal. In an “off” year, they managed to produce a wine that not only has great structure and staying power but is also very easy to drink. Black currant and boysenberry on the nose, with dark fruit and luscious blackberry and blueberry on the palate. The structure is great, and the wine has good balance. Long finish.

Nutty. Figs. One can taste the alcohol. Just a little light on body. Refreshing.

Drunk, as usual, from D+8.
Decent enough, but a little goopey, sweet, and lacking in the acid bite for my taste.
