My tasting partner had mentioned needing to open a DRC, but otherwise I was tasting blind: pure deep ruby colored; profuse nose of incredible fresh red burgundy, violets, a hint of poopy barnyard shtank. Very layered and complex, this shows all sorts of depth and purity. Just a tad dry on the finish, begging for further cellaring. I was guessing 1999 or 2002, shocked that this was showing so well already for an ‘09. Great stuff!

Short note - 1,5 hour after decanting. Clean and precise, cherries, clove, raspberry/wild strawberries, hint of liquorice root, fried mushrooms, Very well balanced, structured with booth acidity and ripe and silky tannins, medium intense, quite deep complexity and very high concentration. Still needs som time, outstanding quality, 94p with possible upside

Very Dark in color and the nose a bit closed from the start. Some cake notes and sweetness , but not so much Vosne spice. I have been drinking my other DRC vines from 2007 and 2008 and this was very different. Much greater year and I think a few more year in the cellar had made me more happy…Still a very fine Vosne

Tasted from List at Le Gavroche in London. Decanted, but drank immediately from decanter. Provenance should be ex-Corney & Barrow.
Don't let the voluntary declassification fool you - this is an incredible wine. DRC nose, beautiful Vosne palate and just goes down effortlessly, with a lingering fruitiness in the mouth that just leaves you wanting for more.
In terms of comparisons - it's not quite as big as La Tache, or perhaps Richebourg... it's not quite as silky smooth and feminine (comparatively anyway) as RSV... Whatever it is though, and however the Domaine chose to blend its holdings together to create this, it's an absolute stunner.
This is a rare wine, and I am blessed to have had the chance to try this. It completely outclassed the 1998 Lafite that we had at the same time, and it was a shame that this was their last bottle. I felt as if this bottle was in a great place - it may get better with a bit of age, but certainly will stay at this level for a while. Enjoy if you can get your hands on this!

Lovely nose and elegant texture. No GC depth or intensity.
