At 8 years old, this wine has evolved into an excellent pop and pour wine. Pure enjoyment straight out of the bottle with no fuss, work, or wait required before drinking. The flavors are delightfully smoothed out, balanced, and integrated. The acid-tannin structure and brightness of good red Burgundies combine with the fruit, texture, and richness of California Pinots. Gone is any heaviness, sugar sweetness, or jam that might have haunted the young wine. Ends with a superbly resonant and lingering finish echoing all that came before.

I'm fairly surprised to see the low reviews, given the style and QPR. I was expecting 90-91, but 88? I guess that means more for me.
There's a lot of fruit and minerality going on with a delicate finish. It might not be world class, but it's exciting and different from the norm, which I find refreshing.
This is the most exciting Pinot you can buy for $20. If you disagree, I'd be interested in knowing what you prefer.

Au Bon Climat wines are always a treat for me and this bottle is no exception. Transparent red. Fresh and light on its feet. Fairly simple, but not boring--has balanced fruit and acid enough to keep it interesting. To me, exceptional quality in a very reasonably priced bottle.

By the glass out.
Labled "Alan Wong's"
A nice restaurant Pinot.
Lots of sweet ripe cherry and strawberry fruit. More tasty than interesting.
