Over the hill, but still tasty. Some funky unpleasantness blew away quickly, and by the end of the bottle, this was quite nice and rich, if a little thin. Lots of cherry.

Never really had an aged 100% Merlot before. At least one that did age properly. This is a very interesting wine. Again, lighter red garnet color with a fringe of brown hues marking its aged quality. Aromas of chocolate covered cherries. Everything about the qualities of this wine is deeply refined, extracted, and polished. The palate is overwhelmingly cherry, but not all that fruit forward. Like a very refined, light, dry but intensely cherry cordial. Slight cocoa and earthy vanilla wood. The tannins are slightly rough, but not offensive.

Interesting dark maroon color; nose of black cherry, dark baker's chocolate and stewed prunes. In the mouth, dark chocolate and cherries; some oak and vanilla and dried prunes. Rich ripe tannins with a bit of heat on the finish. I'll leave this open and come back to it in an hour or so; see if it opens up.

Not my thing. Stewed tomatoes and alchohol on the nose, way to hot for me, unbalanced.
