I think this one’s time has come, viscous, almost sweet but baked back notes. Must have been ripe fruit and I think this producer has added a more subtle hand to more recent vintages. I wouldn’t hold, this risks sliding into cough syrup territory. Baked fig, raisin and oak notes with wet leather in the nez.

Nez is very herbal, not a lot of fruit. Red berry and green leaf, bitter notes with pepper and a sourish finish. This feels like it may have a bit of some type of low level contaminant organism. I’d keep a close eye on it and may say finish within 6 months.

Decanted tableside at Restaurant. Lots of fine sed, w/no real bricking. Lovely expression of Napa Valley Cabernet. A bit restrained, but still plenty of wonderful fruit and as always some chocolate notes with soft tannins. Good on own and with our meal. Thank you Lewelling family!

Not tired but ready to go, the Wight shows good aromatic lift in the nose with currant and sour cherry in the palate.
