  • This one felt a little past peak- predominately marzipan and pastry dough, so oxidized mixed nuts. Fruit was faded and didn’t contribute.
Really showed it old age when followed by a lively auslase Riesling .

  • Distinct old gold with lightbrgown edges. The entry reflects the wine has seen better days with bruised apple, cedar and honey. The palate reflects the evolution with pepper, hot jalapeño spice and a generous or rather protruding alcohol (despite the 13.5%) as the fruit has largely left the building. The finish ends with spun sugar, candied elements. My fault as should have drunk it sooner - as from my previous note!

  • 13.5% Alc, Biodynamic. Mid straw-gold.
Penetrating aromas of quince, dried hay, tangerine peel alongside a floral element - something between orange blossom and resin.
With good acidity and a phenolic grip to the entry, the wine has breadth in the mid-palate and is relatively full-bodied. The flavours reflect the nose somewhat but add soft fudge, aniseed and a slightly off-putting floral note, almost silage? Certainly showing evolution, the initial quality seemed to get more compromised as the evening progressed. Possibly drunk a few years too late.
