I guess they hold them for 5 years until they are released in 2013. Started tasting it in 2020 when I picked a few cases on a whim. Very well made Syrah in traditional style from CA grapes. It is very very dark in the bottle due to being unfiltered, you will need to filter it & decant it! Once opened up for a few hours it has black cherry and berry overtones with a long solid finish. Seems to always surprise me every bottle I open over the last few years.

Over a decade in the bottle and not over the hill by any measure. Rod did well making this Syrah in an old world style from a cooler region of CA. Consumed over 8 hours. Dark almost inky in appearance, unfined and unfiltered, so very little clarity. Aromas of forest floor and black currant, flavors of black cherry and fresh fig with a long lingering finish. Too bad it was my last bottle.

This bottle was fairly advanced, just a little over the hill. Got better with a bit of air. Plush fruit, firm acid, black tar. Fruit was a bit soft and mushy.

Popped and poured. Very nice. A Syrah with more of a Pinot profile.
