Bought in a box sale from cleaning a cellar. Deep ruby. Nose predominantly pepper and spice. Aged Shiraz flavours of leather, tobacco and green pepper. Not much fruit remains. Still significant spicy tannins. Slightly sweet impression. Moderate finish.
It was ok but the sweetness was a bit not to my taste.
Edit: sitting in fridge. Drank rest may 15th so 11 days after opening. Now fantastic. Sweet ness less present and leather and spice predominant. Enjoyable.

This was a wine that won the The trophy, presented at the International Wine Challenge in London that beat 4875 other entries. So simply the is a bottle that has travelled well. The nose has definitely developed showing raisins, sweaty saddles and leather, so I was concerned whether the palate would have held up. Simply the wine while elderly had good fruit characters. The Wine definitely showed a lot of sweet fruit which was emphasised by the alcohol although only 14%. There was a nice balance of acid and tannin. So while the wine had past its peak it was sound interesting and enjoyable and much better than the last bottle.

The last but best of 6 in the cellar - rich, deep - still good fruit. nice balance of acid and tannin. Some old leather flavours in this bottle - and still a glass left for tomorrow night!

Developed well 1 hour after opening. Dry and spicy, lots of berry fruit flavours. Still drinking very well.
