Christmas dinner: Nose of tropical fruits with layers of butter and popcorn. The palate opens up with passion fruit and quince, transitioning to butter, the texture being not too fatty because of good acidity on the finish. Paired very well with a scallop appetizer.

Nose: rich, ripe pineapple dominates with citrus and papaya coming through and slight spice (warm, like cinnamon without the fire) and nuttiness. On the palate there is excellent acidity and freshness thanks to low oaking. Ripe melon and more citrus, excellent purity of fruit and a warm, medium-length finish. 13.5% alcohol well-handled, a touch of heat on the finish but not that annoying. Excellent stuff, and for the price (around £8) and availability (at all large Sainsburys), this is my QPR Chardonnay of the year.

Oaky and full flavored. A bit of toast and peach.

Crispy yet untuous. Very good chardonnay with good acidity and fruit. For those who like it with no oak.
