Served with grilled steak au poivre, did not decant. Interesting Sonoma pinot noir that is fruit forward with initial nose and flavors of red cherries, plums, roses, and touch of spice, with good midrange, finish, and acidity. I generally prefer the less fruit forward and intense style of the better Oregon Pinot Noirs, but this wine was almost a blend of Oregon and denser California Pinot Noirs, with a color density more typical of California. This is an enjoyable wine available at a decent price. However, I would drink within the next 1-3 years.

A pinot for people who prefer more depth and structure than found in most pinots. Darker in color - purple in the center of the glass but rose/translucent for 1/3 inch in from the edge of the glass. Earth, damp forest floor, clove aromas; medium in weight (med+ for a PN) with noticeable tannins that give a far more lingering mouthfeel than typical. Black cherry, hint of fig. I'll seek out more of this and enjoy over 3+ years.
