  Tart cherry, spicy pepper, red currant. Juicy. Oaky, but no coffee/leather/tobacco/etc. that I could pick up. Fruit forward. Citrus notes linger after the taste.

  I think this wine sneaks up on you. At first it tastes so smooth, you might be lead to think it is simple. Also, the finish is pretty short, I think this wine may have been pretty heavily filtered. But the mid palate is solid, the fruit is very clean, and it has some real Cabernet flavor characteristics. The nose pouring into the decanter was prototypical Chilean with some green coffee bean, evergreen and blackberry. The palate does not deliver what the nose indicated, more evidence of heavy filtration. The fruit is more red than dark. There is a slight black pepper spiciness. What fruit we do get on the finish is a candied red raspberry.
