  (CAMILLE Nicolas Cole) UPDATE: Container Arrival Just to update everyone on March containers or deliveries set to dock and unload during the month. Garagiste ************************* Camille Dear Friends, Everyone can try to downplay the economy as much as they want but the fact is, wine needs to move through the pipeline. From winery to retailer, the trade is in the midst of a correction and the smart players are lowering prices to give the consumer a vote of confidence instead of devising a scheme of confidence built on a continual con. You can add Nicolas Cole to the smart camp. By offering this reduced price to us, they have not only given the consumer incentive to try their wine (and hopefully gain their loyalty), but the 2004 Camille is just now coming into its own after a rough period that lasted through 2007 and into the start of 2008 (much like a recently bottled St. Emilion). With the 2004 Camille you now receive two benefits - the benefit of time in the cellar and of a reduced price. I've checked in on this wine from time to time and it finally started to surprise me about six months ago. In February 2009, it's finally become something to write home about with secondary character starting to brim and bubble under the surface - the new tarrif makes it even more enticing for a domestic red that wishes to play at the very top level: Finally, a US upstart with cult-level aspirations that's swallowed their pride and realized it's much better to go forward with the consumer by your side then to prop up a false impression of grandeur. In my opinion, that is worth rewarding with our wholehearted support (the wine is certainly worth the $28+ as well). We don't have an endless supply of this at the reduced price (they are almost at the end of the vintage) - please give Niki your maximum up to 12 and she will allocate based on the total number of requests. (This is not the same wine being flogged around the US for $25, that is the 2003 Camille, which was from purchased fruit and is not in this league) This parcel is directly from the winery cellar with perfect provenance: 2004 Nicolas Cole "Camille" (Columbia Valley) It will ship during the spring shipping season.
