100% Cabernet Franc from Chinon FR, this wine immediately presents as herbaceous & rustic with aromas of dried herbs, roasted bell pepper and hints black pepper. The pallate is light/med bodied with smooth tannins, and does add bit of fruit with flavors of raspberry sauce but still finishes with similar rustic overtones and an imbalanced sharp acidity. An imperfect but interest pairing with reverse seared Filet mignon with red wine sauce! [8/22/23] ($20)

Great nose. A lighter touch than I expected from a Cab Franc, but well integrated with layers of red fruits and good tannic/acid structure. Will continue to evolve for another three+ years.

Almost primitivo like… notes of grape seeds, licorice, and unripe blueberries. Decent acidity. A bit flabby and rustic but good and true to what it is..

Lighter touches than many Chinon wines. Intriguing mix of dark fruit flavors, but not yet integrated. I just retrieved this from the shipper, and likely should have let it rest awhile before sampling. Give another six months before trying the next bottle.

Bright, balanced with acidity. Some plum notes. Crisp, good for a lighter wine.
