Solid Etna bottle. Admittedly, I did not give it the best storage so it was approaching its twilight when I opened it. Very little fruit, more of a stewed red fruit and almost Amaro-like citrus pith. Finish showed some of that classic Etna smoke and minerality and dried fruits- almost prunes and raisin. Regardless, pretty solid QPR for a $22 retail bottle with 6 years of age on it.

Pistus strikes again. Nose - strawberry fruited licorice. Mouth - Strawberries, juicy fruit, slight vegetal. fresh but lighter than the Clape cote du Rhône, yet similar in approach. Fresh!

a wine i have had many times. currently for sale nearby for $26/btl nose - sour cherry, plum, earth mouth - fresh, alive, lighter red fruits, in good balance, nothing overly profound going here but its consistently a real pleasure to drink. to me it drinks like a good village level burgundy. the bone dry tannins however betray its Italian origin
