Lovely bottle of Malbec. Tannins have softened with time for a very nice mouthfeel. Fruit remains clear with plum, blueberry and some raspberry. Slight notes of cedar make for a balanced wine. Very good on its own or with a variety of foods.

Again at Jenny & Rudy with lamb from grill. Drew visiting. Next to the 2011. I ultimately liked this better as a rounded wine with a bit more structure. Very good wines though that deserved a better food match this time. It seemed they didnt stand up against the grill flavors. BUT very well made. Drink now - both vintages.

Drank with a 2013 Scherrer Grenache and a 2008 Congruence Cabernet at our good friends’ home with a chile dinner. All three wines drank really well. I wasn’t sure of the drinking order from lightest to heaviest and thought this one would be first before tasing. But when I opened all three wines, I was surprised this was the biggest one. It medium-to-full (or on the lighter side of full-) bodied and needed some time to open up and come together. We did not decant, but let it sit for an hour or so after pouring off a glass. No flavor notes, but very good, and plenty life to go. No rush at all.

This is drinking in prime time. Beautiful with pork chops after a two hour decant. Pure, harmonious and vibrant, no signs of fading.
