This is a nice entry level Bordeaux from the Rothschild family.Full bodied and rich, with medium plus acidity. Very dry on the palate with mild complexity. Showing blackberries, black plums, cooked cherries, chocolates, oak, light vanilla, earth, licorice, leather, pencil lead, peppercorn, tobacco leaf, dark coffee and black tea.Nice finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries. This 5 year old is starting to drink nicely now, and will be good in the next 5 years.Needs a couple of hours to open up properly. A bit unbalanced, but very enjoyable, even by itself. A good wine to pair with food too. I paired it with a Charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.12.5% alcohol by volume.90 points. $53.
